Gary Holden

Gary Holden worked in education for over 30 years as a teacher, leader, adviser and inspector until his retirement. He worked as one of Her Majesty’s Inspectors between 2016-2020. Before that, he spent eight years as headteacher of one of the first teaching schools in the country, became a National Leader of Education and chaired the National Teaching Schools Council.
Earlier in his career, he taught on master’s level courses for practising teachers at two universities and was a senior adviser for a local authority. He has co-authored three books and has published several academic papers in the field of teacher development.
